American Idol 2008 finalist Jason Castro will finally release his debut album, Jason Castro, this month. As of this writing, schedule of release is on January 26, 2010, Tuesday. The album will be under Atlantic Records, and according to company executive Pete Ganberg, “If you fell in love with Jason on the show, this is exactly the record you’d want him to make. It’s introspective, playful and very much a combination of his influences, which range from Jeff Buckley to Jack Johnson.”

Jason is well-known for his laid-back and feel-good style of music. One of his most notable performances in his American Idol stint is his version of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. This album was initially set to be released November of 2008 but was postponed. According to the singer, “I’ve poured my life into this album for the past several months — writing over 50 songs, recording a bunch of them and working to get each one just right. We’re really close but are making some final tweaks so it can be exactly the album that I imagined it would be!”
